If you are reading this post, then congratulations to you for having achieved a primary goal of life, which is to LIVE and avoid death.
Congratulations for choosing to be positive rather than embracing negativity and pessimism.
Congratulations to you for endeavoring to stretch beyond the limits of your creative endurance rather than buckle under pressure.
Congratulations on making a decision to pursue your ridiculously impossible goals and ambitions rather than commit to a life defined by mediocrity.
Congratulations for creating the opportunities you desire to experience rather than whine and complain and build monuments to failures.
Congratulations for striving to become the best version of YOU rather than regress into an unfruitful way of being.
Congratulations to you for choosing love over indifference.
And congratulations for choosing life over death!

I always liked this quote:
For myself I am an optimist – it does not seem to be much use being anything else.

Great post! I’ve played it safe too often due to lack of confidence. I’m doing a great course this year about everything you discuss in your blog. It’s called Year of You, and it’s great, really making me think about what I want to do.

Hi Cynthia! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. 🙂 I hope you wouldn’t mind me pushing back a bit. Here are my thoughts. No one really lacks confidence. The struggle most people deal with is “misplaced” or “misdirected” confidence, which is to say that a person often directs his or her confidence within the constraints of comfort, ease, and familiarity.
For example, people who are in the workforce, exchange their skills and time for a monetary reward. Those individuals are confident enough to perform meaningful tasks repeatedly and over time and within a controlled (familiar) environment.
Now, if you were to remove those individuals from that familiar environment and place them in a new and unfamiliar environment, their confidence would not be as strong, but the confidence is still there. It’s just a matter of how willing they are to take new risks and adjust and adapt to the unknown.

Yes, you’re probably right. There’s many things I’m confident in, and others not! I’m working on that this year.😊
