It’s a beautiful sunny day and you’re walking through the busy streets of your gorgeous city. Everyone is dressed clean and accordingly. Walking through the crowd someone passes by you with a horrible odor and destroyed clothes. Coming to a halt, looking around, all the beautiful people suddenly disappear and there are more people like that suddenly walking past you. You have walked into homeless territory. How can a city so beautiful be struck with such disgust?
I think everyone can agree when I say homeless people are mood killers and a bit disgusting. The amount of homeless people in the United States is tremendously high. There are about 580,000 homeless people in U.S. You cannot visit some cities without such filth filling up every corner of the street. I find it disrespectful for tourists to be bombarded by homeless people. They are there to visit and sightsee, not make donations. As natural as it may seem now, it is something that needs to be controlled. For decades, we have tried to find a solution to bring the number of homeless people down. Nothing is working. The total amount of homeless people rises every year. In some cities you can’t go anywhere without being nagged by the homeless. They prey on people. It’s like feeding a stray dog. If people constantly give in a certain area, they’re just going to keep coming back.
They prey on people. It’s like feeding a stray dog.
Stopping at red lights and homeless men are walking up to your car displaying signs begging for money. They force you to look at them. It is best to not even acknowledge their existence. They also confront you before you walk into a store and wait for you as you’re coming out. They will walk up on you in parking lots, gas stations and practically anywhere else. Forgetting that people do not like their personal space to be intruded on. They can quickly change a good scene to a bad one. Riding public transportation and filling up the air with their odor. No one wants to live in an area with depression constantly walking around.
Some are too lazy to help themselves. There is only so much someone can do to help them without putting so much stress on themselves. It takes a lot of time, effort and money to constantly run shelters and soup kitchens. People are digging into their pockets and taking donations to keep those kind of things running. People do not want to be asked to donate their hard earned cash to people just doing nothing with their lives. Some people may feel pressured to say yes. Homeless people want to appeal to your feelings. They desire a sense of sympathy. You can only be sympathetic so many times before you realize you’re actually being taken advantage of. Appealing to God is another way homeless people get donations from others.
People want to constantly ignore the fact that the amount of homeless people is rising more and more every year. It’s easier to ignore it than to get together and take affirmative action. Through countless thinking, I have come up with a reasonable solution that I believe everyone would agree upon. To lower the rate of homeless people, I say we simply put them into a game. A game that will start off with many but end with one. A game that will kill off the weak and bring forth a valiant winner. A game like Fear Factor? No, a game far more strategical! We will recreate the “Hunger Games.” We could just kill off the homeless, but it would be more humane to give them a fighting chance. Homelessness will no longer be a major issue with this solution.
We will strip the homeless of their rights. We will dehumanize them. We will put them into the game as they are. However, they will be given new clothing and fed prior to entering the game. They will also be supplied with weapons here and there to add more excitement to the game. They will scavenge for food with the skills they were using to survive in the cities they were will living in. There will be no begging in this game. There will be no mercy unless their opponent decides to show it. There can only be one winner. Starting this game will also fend off the people that find it OK to fake being homeless just for free money. A game that will also be of great entertainment for the working people of the U.S. There will be no more begging on American soil. The first day every Hunger Games is hosted will be a national holiday. We will have something to truly celebrate together. Some people are content with being homeless and some people actually want a chance to rejoin human civilization. This is their chance.
We will strip the homeless of their rights. We will dehumanize them.
All homeless people will be included in the game. Do we include the homeless children in this game also, you ask. Yes, children will be included in this game. The redefined Hunger Games is accepting homeless people of all ages. The children have been taught at an early age to fend for themselves to survive. Therefore, they would make perfect participants. Children and teenagers between the ages 8 to 16 will be put into a game strictly for that age group. The game will be divided up into two groups. Group one will be children and teenagers. Group two will include older teenagers and all adults. The disabled, mentally ill, and older adults will be put through a test to see if they’re capable of participating in the game. Otherwise, they will simply be put down. We want to let them choose their own way out of this life.
The game is created to give everyone a fighting chance to improve their lifestyle. Will they be mentally stable after the games? All winners are required to take a mental test that will determine if they’re capable of returning to human civilization. If they are not, they will be put down and all winnings will be forfeited. The winner will be taken care of for a year. They will be given a job, a house, and 1.5 million dollars minus tax deductions. The children and teenagers will be given a home and the same prize as the adults when they become 21. If any parent wins the game, and their child is homeless, they can buy their freedom.
Being homeless is an option and a lot of people put themselves in that position. If you’re homeless, it is your fault. All those bad choices you made growing up resulted in you being homeless. Not managing your money is another reason why you’re homeless. There are kids on the streets because their parents chose to bring them up in a life of poverty. Those teenagers that wouldn’t listen to their parents and decided to move out, you chose your future then.
Homeless people, why do we need them? All they do is fill the streets with misery. They prey on people that are trying to make something of themselves. Homeless people are a nuisance and just want a handout. If immigrants can come to America and do well for themselves, then so can you. Born on American soil, and you still end up homeless? There will be no more charities. No more soup kitchens. We will soon put an end to all of that. Living is all about survival of the fittest. We will clean the streets of begging scum. Nothing will be handed to you. You must put forth the effort and earn your take in America.
