Is Life Getting In The Way?

Is life getting in the way of your goals?

If you believe life is getting in your way, it could be that you are focusing on the wrong ideas or goals. The reality is, life never gets in anyone’s way. That idea goes contrary to the laws of nature and is therefore improbable.

When someone says life is getting in his or her way, what that person is really saying is that things are not going according to plan at the moment. When you are faced with something unexpected, the best course of action is to adapt and pivot.

We’ve all experienced times when life did not go according to what we’d wished or hoped for. But because things are not going our way does not mean we should abandon our pursuits. This phenomenon called life was never meant to be easy or difficult. Life is life—it just is. We win some and we lose some, and that’s okay.

Rather than spend time wishing life dealt you a better hand, why not focus on what you can control and that is your mindset. Often times what one interprets to be a setback is an opportunity waiting to be unearthed. The universe has interesting ways of leading us to the materialization of our dreams. But we won’t get to that place if our focus remains on what is not working.

Here’s the takeaway I’d like to leave with you.

You will find whatever it is you are looking for. If your mindset is tuned to success, then you will find success. If all you see are obstacles, setbacks, and disappointments, then those things will define your reality.

A fellow blogger recently posted that she plans on becoming a best-selling author. Well, when she does become a best-selling author, I won’t be surprised, and she won’t be surprised because she chose to direct her focus and harness the power of the law of attraction to manifest her desire.

Where your focus goes, your energy flows. Whatever you think about all the time, you will inevitably attract into your life. Whatever you pour into the universe (negative or positive, good or bad) will be poured back into you with the multiplied force and intensity of time.

  1. This is a wonderful post! I’ve never felt like life has gotten in my way. I’ve felt that I myself have gotten in the way of my life! My anxiety has stopped me many times from pursuing things I want to do or try. But thankfully, a few years back I started therapy and because I learned a lot about myself and my reasons for becoming this way, I was able to venture out and be ME. I’ve felt more free and more independent. Don’t get me wrong, I still get nervous to do things and it may take me a while to do it, but I DO IT! When I started to become more mindful, I learned to enjoy new things more. I started volunteering at a soup kitchen, I took dance classes, I signed up and was accepted into a college and then into the Social Work program. I spoke more freely and expressed myself with more heart. I was in control of myself now and I wanted to put out more positivity! So yes, we can stop ourselves from enjoying the life we want. I’m just so grateful that I learned this now instead of when I’m much older in life.

  3. This is beautiful, Josiah. When I read it I thought ‘of course’. It is so simple but most of us don’t see it until someone like yourself points it out. Thank you. I’ve shared it with my children.:-)

      1. –>>Thanks Susan! You’re destined for greatness!!<<–From Josiah Samuel Harry
Thank you. I would say that I hope for greatness, or wish for greatness, but I 'd rather say that I will earn greatness, by doing what I'm passionate about, everyday. I will keep honing my craft, and I will make good books, then great books, then unforgettable books that leave some people with tears in their eyes. I know my goals. I know that I have to work hard to achieve them, but I also have to believe that I am destined for greatness. 😀
