Have you ever wondered how some people were able to make it from where they were, e.g., dysfunctional relationships, toxic environments, pathological circumstances, to where they have presently positioned themselves? Of course, you have—everyone of us has.
In order to get through the clutter of your present reality and get to the place where your ridiculously-impossible dreams and most significant hopes await, it might help if you employed one or all of the following.
First, you must believe in yourself. Cliché? Perhaps. Nonetheless, if you don’t commit to personal responsibility and make time to invest in your dreams, then whom do you think will take time out of their busy schedule to babysit your ambitions?
There exists a popularized and self-defeating notion that only certain people are capable of making it to the top (wherever that is). If you embrace that idea for one second, then you would have surrendered your right to fulfill the highest expression of self. If person X can accomplish her lofty ambitions, then you can achieve yours.
Elon Musk is not the only person capable of creating a company that builds rockets. But many people would rather watch and celebrate his successes than to launch their own version of success. So believe in yourself.
Second, you must be willing to take that extra step. So what you’ve written twenty-one books that didn’t sell well. You now have a couple of options left. Option #1: You can pour your heart and soul into the writing, publishing, and marketing of book number twenty-two and hopes it does well. Option #2: You can explore other opportunities until you find a gap in the market, then leverage your brand to monetize that specific demand.
Lastly, don’t ever give up on yourself. The reality is, most of us are not where we would like to be in life not because life dealt us a bad hand but because we made a series of unfortunate choices. Yes, we’ve messed up!! Now it’s time to let go of the past and move your life forward to a place of happiness, abundance, and adventure.
Star Trek is my favorite sci-fi franchise. The idea of traveling through time, exploring new worlds, encountering new civilizations, and experimenting with new tech fascinates me. If you think about it, we’re all explorers in one way or another, which means there are vast opportunities out there awaiting us. It is up to each of us to break out of the monotony of the moment, rise to the challenge, and apply ourselves in meaningful ways to leave the world better than when we entered it.
My upcoming book, Choose Love Not Hate, is eight (8) days away from dropping on Amazon. It would mean the world to me if you purchased a copy when it comes out.
Well said and all the best with the release of your upcoming book. Congratulations
