Smile, slowly inhale and exhale deeply, and enjoy this moment in time. Take fifteen seconds—close your eyes, and celebrate where you are right now.
If you are doing what you are supposed to be doing and believe you are on the path to success, meaning happiness, abundance, and adventure, then there is no need to stress about the results. Celebrate the process of not only getting things done but also being the best you.
The temptation to measure the results (and the process) will always be there. Even so, what’s most important is thriving as the best version of you. Taking the pressure off centers on nurturing your mental health, which can positively or negatively impact the way you think, feel, and act.
It is not an accident you have made it this far—building relationships, overcoming challenges, managing your day-to-day routines, and broadening your horizons. The reality is, there are no random events in one’s life, just experiences. Nonetheless, in order to thrive in the midst of life’s ebb and flow, it necessitates having a healthy mind.
Here are a few things you can do to keep your mind healthy.
- Focus on the positive. A positive mindset gives you more confidence, reduces stress, lowers the occurrence of depression, equips you with positive coping skills to adapt to life’s challenges, and increases one’s lifespan.
- You are what you eat. “Food is fuel, and the kinds of foods and drinks you consume determine the types of nutrients in your system and impact how well your mind and body are able to function.”
- Get more sunlight during the day. “The sun’s UV light contains b photons—light particles that penetrate your skin and trigger the release of a skin cholesterol that your body uses to produce vitamin D, which is necessary for serotonin production. Proper serotonin and vitamin D levels play a part in your DNA health.”
- Sleep smarter. “High quality sleep fortifies your immune system, balances your hormones, boosts your metabolism, increases physical energy, and improves the function of your brain. You will never, I repeat NEVER, have the body and life you want without giving your body the right amount of sleep.”
I don’t know about you guys, but I could use a bit more sunshine in my life. As far as sleep goes…well, I’m a vampire by DNA…so that’s not about to change. 🙂
On a more serious note, we have one life to live—so why not live it the best way we can. Let’s show our appreciation for the blessings of the Universe by treating ourselves with care and compassion.
Beautifully written, and very helpful…I enjoyed reading this piece, thank you.

I took the 15 seconds “challenge”and found gratitude this evening! Funny how it was just waiting there for me to notice it like a bright orange Easter egg in the grass! Thanks!
