Flying Under The Radar

So many of us go through life flying under the radar—trying not to draw attention to ourselves, hoping to go unnoticed, wishing not to create waves, and doing our best to avoid difficult challenges.

We have the talent to be producers, but we are content living as consumers. We have the ability to walk, but we prefer to be carried. We are equipped with the volitional capacity, means, and tools to build our own lives, but we let others do the building.

We were born to be phenomenal, to do phenomenal things—something we know—but we settle for being average, which means doing just enough to get by. We have the ability to dream dreams—BIG dreams—but we allow others to carve out our path.

The reality is, much of the less-than-ideal outcomes we experience is not based on life dealing us a bad hand; rather, we experience what we experience because we unwittingly embrace the idea that we are either not good enough or we are undeserving.

Here is the heart of the matter.

You do not need anyone’s permission to live your best life. You are good enough. You do deserve to experience life’s best. You have what it takes to live the life of your imaginings. You are worthy to see your dreams come to fruition.

You have flown under the radar long enough, and it is time for you to shine brightly, to stand apart from the crowd, and to live your destiny.

“Come on, Josiah! You’re singing that same old song.”

Perhaps, I am. But before you charge me with dereliction of duty for not living up to the “writer’s code,” ask yourself the following question.

“Am I truly living my best life—emotionally, physically, financially, relationally, and spiritually?”

To be continued…(see below).

If you are lacking in any of those areas (see above), then you are flying under the radar, and I am simply reminding you that it is time to rise higher—to take control of your life and awaken the greatness within.

Because the truth is, most of us are living our lives based on our social and cultural conditioning instead of our capacity. For example, I come from a family of blue-collar workers and I do not recall ever engaging in a meaningful conversation about personal and professional development, entrepreneurship, financial independence, wealth building, or legacy.

No one talked about those things. And it is not that we were content for contentment sake, we simply did not have the information to make more informed decisions. It was like living in a cave and never realizing the sun exists.

In essence, we were conditioned to think and live a certain way. Examine your own family tree and history—your own sociocultural upbringing—and you too will notice the knowledge deficits that locked you into a certain way of thinking and behaving.

So here is the point I want to get across. It is time to move from conditioning to capacity. Forget about what was or was not. Today is a new day, and you are armed with sufficient information and knowledge to take your life to an extraordinary place if you so choose.

Each of us has the capacity—the ability or power to do, experience, or understand something—so as to live our best lives. Now it is just a matter of choice. So the question now becomes: How badly do you want what you say you want?

Happy Weekend!!
